Girls Incorporated of Alameda County

Girls Inc. is a local affiliate of the national Girls Incorporated organization with the shared mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Since 1958, Girls Inc. has responded to the unique needs of girls and young women in the most underserved communities of San Francisco’s East Bay through a continuum of academic, educational enrichment, and counseling services. Programs challenge girls to explore their potential, develop life skills, ensure college and career success, and expand their sense of what is possible. Girls Inc.’s STEM Initiative provides over 350 girls, grades 4-12, from underserved communities, with sustained out-of-school time STEM experiences, including opportunities to learn to code, build networks, design websites, and create video games. With an innovative educational approach incorporating local needs into research-based curricula, Girls Inc. has established itself as one of the Bay Area’s leading providers of supplemental education.
