Want to see the fabulous MC Hammer talk tech with a VC?   You can get your chance next month when the newly moved to Oakland tech and venture capital conference– Vator Splash Oakland— features a talk between Hammer and local VC (and retail entrepreneur ) Erik Moore, who runs Base Ventures.

The talk will focus on tech startups, the As and Oakland’s bright future–and with those two together, should be completely fascinating. Hammer’s keynote session is the second keynote to kick off the conference, which starts May 6th, and is being held at Jack London Square.

A true force for good–and a sharp businessman–Hammer became one of Visit Oakland’s official spokespersons in 2012.  He was quoted in November 2011 in the San Francisco Chronicle as saying “My admiration, love and understanding of the culture of Oakland is from experience. The thing that inspires me about Oakland is its ability to change. We are our own city.”

A talk between  Mitch Kapor, founder of the Kapor Center for Social Impact, investor and philanthropist and conference lead and ward-winning journalist Bambi Francisco Roizen precedes this event.

Vator Splash Oakland is a conference focused on tech, startups, and access to capital that’s having its first year in Oakland; ticket pricing is staggered to make specific sessions and events accessible to everyone. The agenda  is posted here.
